How To: Record Visual Boy Advance with Fraps!

Post by Amy on Thu May 31, 2012 7:49 am

It's been nearly 6 months since I've done this, but here is another tutorial! This time, as one could read from the title, it'll regard Visual Boy Advance (VBA) and the video recording program "Fraps"! This is actually pretty easy now that I've read into it, but anyway:

The first set of steps:

  1. Open up VBA. Go to the options tab.
  2. Under the options tab, go to the Render Settings tab.
  3. Under the Render Settings tab, click "Direct3D". *DO NOT CLOSE VBA YET*
[Here will be a screenshot if I can get one put up]

The second set of steps:

  1. Open up Fraps.
  2. Click "Movies" tab.
  3. Click 60 FPS if you want the smoothest, clearest video recording.
  4. Click on your VBA tab, open up your game, record, close, edit/compress if need be, do whatever!
[screenshot of Fraps]

There you have it!

I'll be removing that second step in your second set of steps. Actually, I'll just remove the second set because it's useless; my video is proof of 0 frame skip recording.
